Michelle “Mickey” Katz is the founder and principal attorney of the Law & Mediation Offices of Michelle Katz, with offices in Los Angeles, California. She offers comprehensive, personalized family law counseling and services to clients in Los Angeles, as well as statewide. As a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California, she concentrates her practice on helping clients resolve disputes related to divorce and other family law matters. Ms. Katz is an experienced family lawyer who has been counseling clients in family law matters for more than 30 years. A frequent speaker on mediation and collaborative law, her practice exclusively focuses in the area of divorce and family law dispute resolution through mediation and collaborative law. She also provides comprehensive counsel to clients entering relationship agreements, including pre-nuptial, post-nuptial, and cohabitation agreements. She is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. Katz began her undergraduate education at the University of California at Berkeley and graduated from Cornell University, where she earned a B.A. in philosophy as well as an M.Ed. She went on to earn her J.D. from San Fernando Valley College of Law and became a member of the California Bar shortly after. She has been certified by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization as a Specialist in Family Law since 1984. She has also undergone hundreds of hours of training in alternative dispute resolution, including training with Gary Friedman at the Center for Understanding and Conflict in Law and with Roger Fisher and Robert Mnookin at Harvard Law School.
Ms. Katz is an active member of the legal community who regularly contributes her efforts to improving the legal profession. She has been a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and Membership Chair and member of the Executive Council of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution. She is a co-founding member of the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association, as well as President and board member of the California Dispute Resolution Council (CDRC), a state-wide organization promoting best practices in dispute resolution. She has also been an active member of several State Bar of California committees and sections, including the Executive Committee of the California State Bar Family Law Section. She was chair of the Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution of the California State Bar.

Ms. Katz has received numerous awards and professional distinctions during her career.
